“Four For All” Project Team:  The Four Elves

Team Participants: Don Garrioch, Cathy Nadjiwon, Jeff Sutton and Louise Bergeron
Project Name: The Twelve Days of Christmas

Mission_Director_and_AdministratorThe Twelve Days of Christmas project objective was to find 12 caring companies and/or organizations to donate $500 and 6 to 8 employees or family members to serve one dinner at The Elgin Street Mission during the month of December. Mission accomplished…pardon the pun!

Our objective was met with 12 sponsors, approximately 85 volunteers, $6,050.00 raised and twelve dinners served between December 1st and the 23rd!

This project helped The Mission with its fund raising and was most appreciated by the Mission Director, Reverend Rene Soulliere, the Kitchen Manager, Fran Soulliere and the Mission’s administrator Rose Gale and of course all of the patrons.

The sponsoring companies and organizations all had great comments and stories to share about their experience at the Mission.  Many of the sponsors want to do this again and we have other companies and organizations that are interested for December 2010.

Reverend Renee Soulliere, Director and Rose Gale, Office Administrator

Sponsors included:  KPMG, Sudbury Credit Union, Northridge Savings and Credit Union, Sun Life, Sudbury Vision Centre, Benefit Partners, Lopes Mechanical, First Nickel Mine, Mauro Zuliani-ReMax Sudbury, Cambrian College and College Boreal.

To wrap up the project, the sponsors were invited to attend a meeting (January 21) and Reverend Rene Soulliere was invited to speak.  This was followed by a group picture, a slide show with pictures of the volunteers in action and many thank yous!  Northern Life was present and will publish the story both on their website and in the paper.

It is the project that keeps on giving as it is responsible for initiating additional fund raising to help the Mission with another cause…a new floor!
But that is another Four For All story…stay tuned!
