News Sunrisers Can Use

Sunriser Survey
As our agenda this week is jam-packed, we will delay sharing our Club survey results to a later date. The good news is that for those members who have been tardy with their replies, now’s your chance. Louise Bergeron is anxiously awaiting your responses!

PELS/Rotary Weekend
President-Elect Mick Weaver invites all Sunrisers to join him at the annual President-Elect Learning Seminar and Rotary Weekend on April 12-14, 2024, at the Best Western Hotel & Conference Centre in North Bay. The Rotary Weekend has something for everyone and will get you energized for the year ahead. You will learn about new trends in Rotary and great ways to engage club members in service, fundraising, membership and more! Registration is now open so reserve your spot today! And remember, what happens in North Bay, stays in North Bay! :)
We Missed You Last Week
At our last meeting, Sunriser Barbara Ridley delivered a powerful and personal presentation on intimate partner violence (IPV). Barb, the Executive Director of Sudbury Cedar Place Women and Family Shelter, explained the difference between domestic violence and intimate partner violence. She also shared shocking statistics about the prevalence of IPV in Canada, Ontario and here in the Greater Sudbury region. In addition to helping women and children through the shelter, Barb also guided her own daughter through the lengthy and emotional process of leaving an abusive partner. Barb shared a safety plan that can be put in place to help support families affected by IPV in addition to other community resources available through local shelters, Genevra House and Cedar Place, and the Salvation Army. Thank you Barb for sharing an intimate look at IPV in our community and across Ontario.
