Here is a recap of our August 19th meeting: At last week's meeting, Bill Hagborg, former District Governor for District 7010, was our guest speaker. Bill joined the Rotary Club of North Bay in 2007 and has a long history of being involved in all avenues of service. Bill provided Rotarians with an overview of Water First, whose mission is to address local water challenges in Indigenous communities through education, training and meaningful collaboration. In Canada 13.5% and in Ontario 40% of First Nations communities are under a boil water advisory, Water First, partners with Indigenous communities in Canada to address critical drinking water challenges. Rotary is partnering with Water First to help amplify their impact and their advancement of this important cause, funding internship programs enabling indigenous communities to manage and sustain their own community treatment plants. A Message from Bill Hagborg: Thanks again for inviting me to speak to the club this morning about our District Indigenous Project - Water First.
