Here is a recap of our August 26th meeting: At our last meeting, Alessandro Constantini - Co-Founder and Managing Artistic Director of YES Theatre was our guest speaker. Alessandro spoke to us about an exciting new initiative YES Theatre is working on. They are planning to open a state of the art outdoor theatre in the city's downtown core at 131 Durham Street. The project is called the Refettorio and would accommodate approximately 195 patrons in the summer and 130-150 people in the off season. Their mission is to train and retain artists in the community and the north. The location will help in the revitalization of the downtown. They will offer small casts and an intimate setting. Construction is planned to being in the Fall of 2021 |
