Here is a message from Phyllis Winnington-Ingram, our Membership Director...

"Well, for many of us in central and northern Ontario, August is not only the best month of the summer (no bugs!), but also a great time to socialize and celebrate our Rotaryaccomplishments from the past 11 months. In addition, we also have an excellent opportunity to reflect on how we can engage and retain our current membership and plan a thoughtful, strategic membership campaign in partnership with our District Communications/Public Image Director, PDG Bill Hagborg. I want you to know our Membership Committee is here to support you. We would love to come and speak to your Club about creative expansion ideas and retention opportunities, including our new District Fellowships. My cell is 705.645.0754 and email is phyllis@winnington-ingram.com.

Liz McInnis (lizmcinnis61@gmail.com) is our District person for member attraction. Ask your friends and acquaintances to join so we can grow Rotary. Induct them as soon as possible so that they know they are valued. And be sure to mentor them and help them learn about Rotary, including participating in Rotary Leadership Institutes run by Colin Thacker (cthacker@vianet.ca). Christina Geddes (chris@christinageddes.com), District Engagement lead, is in place to help prevent attrition. Find out what you members are interested in and have them join those committees and fundraisers.

Would you believe that Frankie the dinosaur is explaining extinction to Ella and Ally and why we need to work to address our climate crisis, pandemics and accidental or deliberate nuclear war? No? Would you believe that Frankie is just having fun with these you Rotarians to be?

We have 2 new clubs - Blind River and Huntsville Twilight - welcome! And Parry Sound President Linda West is working on sponsoring a Ukrainian Rotaract club. Congratulations."

Here are the latest membership stats for our District and your club.

We have reduced the registration fee and shortened the conference to two days - beginning at 10 am on the Saturday and ending on Sunday at 2:45 pm. We will still have our home hosting Friday night. You won’t have to miss work on Friday and can save money on your accommodations too. Refunds will be sent out to those who had already paid in full. Register today!
